We had some good sized tree branches extending over our pool where certain birds would sit and drop a LOT of poop into the pool. We hated to remove the tree, but we had tried multiple things to repel those birds and that poop problem just had to stop. We also feared that pruning those branches in question would just make it look awful. We talked to a LOT of arborists and went back and forth between pruning and removal. We finally decided we would rather have an odd-looking tree than no tree and chose to go with John. He seemed very knowledgeable and patiently answered all the many questions we had.John's crew showed up on the scheduled day. They were fantastic. Southern Charm is a good name for this company. These guys were so polite, personable, and hard-working. They even did a great job with cleanup. And we are very particular about that. It was so apparent that they really wanted us to be happy with their work. And we are.And that tree we were so worried about looking strange? It doesn't. It still looks good to us! They trimmed our two other trees and they look great too.They also did a fertilizer and fungal/disease treatment for us. I suppose we'll have to wait to see how that works, but the guy who came out to do that was just as polite and friendly as the others. I highly recommend this company. And if they're a little backed up on their schedule, they are worth the wait! We have certainly found our new tree care experts.

Did an excellent job at a fair price. The guys worked a whole day removing a dead post oak and deadwooding several others that needed help. We also have them doing twice a year post oak fertilization on some key trees. The crew is professional, they know what they are doing and you are getting the highest level of arborist certification in the owner, John. We are loyal customers.

August 22,2024: Still the best tree professionals in the greater area. Excellent work removing limbs over the house and raising limbs on older trees. Careful and considerate. I recommend them to my friends, neighbors and Master Gardener colleagues. All have been very satisfied. I've used John Tomlinson on the grounds of St. Stephen Pres. in Fort Worth for many years. They know the right thing to do for the health of the trees.

We hired Southern Charm Tree Care to remove a large tree and grind the stump in our front yard. John was very nice and easy to work with, and his crew was friendly and took care of the tree quickly. We appreciate that this company took our business and our time seriously, and we would absolutely use them again in the future.

His foreman and crew are very professional, and John is a licensed and insured board-certified arborist. This helps you get good advice for your valuable trees. I have lived in a forest for 40 years and can highly recommend this company!

John just doesn't cut trees to be cutting trees. He actually looks at the overall health of the trees. I trusted his judgement. His crew is meticulous, very personable, and very patient. You can tell they actually care about trees. This company has been working on cleaning up a lot of damaged trees (from the 2021 storm!) in my apartment complex for the past couple weeks, and they have done an excellent job. We have seen another company bid previously that claimed all of the trees were damaged so much they would need to come down. Thankfully Southern Charm seems to have a very different approach and takes a lot of care both with the trees and the safety of the people living near them, and we’re able to tell the different between the trees and branches that definitely need to come down, while being able to still save a lot of the trees. We hired John to treat our trees that were in decline. It has been almost two years now and after 3 visits our trees stand out as the healthiest in the neighborhood. We have been having problems with some evergreens we planted early last spring. John Tomlinson came out, diagnosed the problem (too much water - the roots were getting a fungus), treated the evergreens and looked at all our other trees while he was here. He was professional, knowledgeable, personable and reasonable! Will definitely use him again if we have the need.
